EEA organized the Tenth Annual Conference on the Amhara Regional State Economic Development


The tenth annual conference focusing on the Amhara Regional State Social and Economic Development was organized by EEA in collaboration with its Bahir Dar chapter on November 30, 2019 at Homeland hotel conference hall, Bahir Dar. The conference attracted about 105 participants including professionals from regional bureaus, Universities (Bahir Dar and Gonder), NGOs, private sector representatives, University students, and EEA members in the Bahir Dar Chapter.

The conference was officially opened by H.E Ato Melaku Alebel V/President of the Amahra National Regional State and Head, Industry and Investment Bureau after welcome note of  Tesfaye Shiferaw (PhD) Bahir Dar University, Research & Community Service V/ President and Ato Demiraw Getachew, Head EEA Secretariat. During the one day conference, two panel discussions and three papers were presented and discussed on the conference. The two panel discussions were covered the following topics; i.e. Agricultural Transformation in Ethiopia; the challenge and prospective in the case of Amhara region and A Homegrown Economic Reform Agenda: A Pathway to Prosperity and three papers that focused on the regional socio-economic condition were presented on the following topics, i.e.  

·         Children's resources and poverty in single-mother and male-headed households a case in Amhara region: A collective consumption evidence from Ethiopia

·         Poverty and access to land in Ethiopia: A case in Amhara region

·         Rural Farm Household Saving Habit in Amhara National Region of Ethiopia
